Join us to learn how local food is making our city healthier

Did you know urban farmers and community gardeners are paving the way in improving the health of our city and communities through fresh, locally grown food?

In Metro Atlanta, many urban growers and health organizations are already leveraging local food as a tool to address diet-related diseases such as diabetes, obesity and hypertension, and to expand access to fresh food to improve health outcomes.

We want to showcase this work and invite you to join us for Fresh 1: A Health & Nutrition Local Food Forum on August 23 from 12:30pm - 2:30pm at the Good Samaritan Health Center.

Fresh 1 will highlight how healthcare organizations and urban farmers are using local food to improve health outcomes, particularly in Atlanta’s Westside.

This is a FREE event and lunch will be provided.

Local Food Forum Series

Fresh 1 is a part of our ongoing Local Food Forum Series, which aims to bring our city together to learn more about Metro Atlanta’s local food movement and the hard work being done to connect our city to urban growers and fresh food.

The series is a component of the soon-to-be published Local Food Baseline Report, which will highlight the key trends, challenges, and opportunities, and movement leaders that are building community in Metro Atlanta using sustainably-grown, locally-sourced food.
